Dial Indicator tips

  • This is probably an easy question.  I have an older dial indicator for my MHM with a bullet shape tip.  I would like to change that to the flat round tip offered by TMR, but I'm unsure how to recalibrate.  Can someone offer some advice?  Thanks

  • Hi Richard - Once you change out for the flat tip you can put the plane onto the bed with the plane weight in place at station "0".   From there just turn the dial that adjusts your cutting head up and down until the dial indicator tip is on the anvil and the dial reads zero.  Hopefully this helps but please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

  • @Matt Barber connections I did what you said but the calibration still didn't change the way I expected. Have I done anything wrong?
