Our Roots
Tom had never built a rod when he purchased R.L. Winston in 1973, but over the course of 45 years, he became an icon in the fly fishing industry. Quite simply, Tom worked tirelessly in pursuit of building the perfect rod. Tom Morgan Rodsmiths evolved from a dream to build a limited number of superior fly rods for appreciative anglers.

Our Philosophy
Tom once said, "rivers haven't changed and fish haven't changed, so if you've got a great fly rod, why change it?" As the industry chases stiffer tapers and faster actions, we've taken a different approach. We believe that the soul of fly fishing lies in a great rod that loads deeply on each cast and provides pinpoint accuracy on each cast.
